The CHRIST of Christmas...........
Hello guys,
Christmas is upon us already Yayyyyyy.............
So what excites you about Christmas?
Is it the Christmas Trees and decorations? don't you just love seeing green, red and gold everywhere, with shiny balls, and oh how I love beautiful Christmas trees, especially the white ones that make you start singing "I,m dreaming of a white Christmas....."
Is it Santa? I guess the kids always look forward to Santa/Father Christmas thingz (or whatever its called in your zone hehehe)
Is it the food? Christmas is always a time of eating and drinking......
Or is it the Carols?
Carols are on and the year 2016 is gradually winding down. I attended two beautiful carol services yesterday and one last week, and every time I attend carols, I just get really excited, cos I love the season.....
Is it the fact that you get to travel and see family, friends and loved ones?
All these are part of Christmas and I'm sure we all have that one thing we love about the Christmas season.
However, have we pondered on the real reason for the season? Why do we have Christmas in the first place?
Christmas is the celebration of pure, incredible and unconditional act of true love, the celebration of the one who brought salvation and redemption to this world. (John 3:16).
It's amazing that at most Christmas parties, the person we are meant to be celebrating is completely ignored. Many times, He is never even mentioned. Although Jesus is the reason for the season, He is often overlooked or merely mentioned. what we hear is Santa, the Grinch, the Elves, Frosty the Snowman and other fictional characters. So amidst all the celebrations, where do you put the 'Christ' of Christmas?
Some put him as an 'X' - 'Xmas'.......
Some decide its not necessary to greet merry Christmas, lets just say happy holidays, after all its a holiday season......
And then some choose to share this Christ with others, giving gifts and sharing the goodnews....
Have you accepted the 'Christ of Christmas' into your heart? In case you haven't, you still have a chance to do so. Why not say this simple prayer with me.
"Lord Jesus, Please forgive me for all my sins, I believe your son Jesus died for me. I invite Jesus into my heart now to be my personal Lord and Saviour. I receive your holy spirit to help me live above sin and to do your will for me. Thank you Jesus for answered prayers. In Jesus name. Amen.
Yes! That simple.... Now go ahead and share this Christ of Christmas with someone and also have this list as your to-do-list....
I also chose to say Merry Christmas in the 3 basic Nigerian Languages - Yoruba, Ibo and Hausa Languages
Yoruba - E ku Odun o
Ibo - E Keresimesi Oma
Hausa - Barka da Kirisimati

God bless u Efe! Jesus is the reason for season!.. I love d 'to do' list
